Tim Pyman and Jason Paulos score the winning runs for Ogilvy and KFC

Dec 17 2010
Ogilvy Sydney created a new summer campaign for KFC Australia, combining the iconic KFC character of Colonel Sanders with the Australian cricket season, just in time for the Ashes. Four to five television commercials would normally need at least 2-3 days to illustrate comfortably, particularly when you have instantly recognisable characters featuring in the scripts, but the real sting in this delivery was that final frames were needed in less than 24 hours.

When you’re faced with a situation like this, you send in the men who can score the runs in record time. And for Drawing Book, it is Jason Paulos and Tim Pyman, both of who have incredibly fast pencil work. With the aplomb of a well established opening pair these two charged down the pitch and knocked the brief for six.

There aren’t many who can cope with the pressure of such tight deadlines, yet still maintain a consistent quality of pencil work, but Jason and Tim are certainly some of the best at this. This campaign for KFC demonstrates just that – scroll down to see a sample of the storyboards as well as the final TV commercials.
