The Drawing Book Studios Storyboard reel.

Mar 7 2011
The purpose of a storyboard is to help our client to share an idea with their client as close to the way they see it as possible.

The superiority of illustration over other forms of expression is its ability to do this with ideas, concepts and themes that have not yet occurred in reality.

The challenge is that the artist must draw not only whatever subject matter is in the script but also that they must draw the subject matter in the exact pose, at the exact angle in the same tone as it appears in the client’s imagination. To understand this challenge try to remember your dreams in vivid detail. Now try to draw them for someone.

Knowing which storyboard artist is best suited to different ideas is what we take pride in at The Drawing Book Studios. Please enjoy the reel below from 2010 which demonstrates exactly this ability via a sample of single frames from some of the different ideas we worked on throughout the year.
