Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication – Da Vinci

Roman Stolz has always revelled in simplicity. Roman is a sophisticated man with a wealth of experience in doing so much with so little when it comes to logo or icon design. We love his work so much he even did our logo.

Little prepared him for the onslaught of this commission from Woolworths which demanded 65 icons in just over 2 weeks. And if that wasn’t enough to rustle his feathers he was only given one line to work with when depicting each subject (excluding the mixed nuts of course because that’s just ridiculous).

And to any willing illustrators or designers out there, please do send us your solution to mixed nuts in one line. No you can’t change the weight of the line and the final icon has to be recognisable at 1.5 x 1.5 cm.
