Murray McKenzie’s storyboards rise to the occasion for Viagra

Oct 1 2010
McCann Sydney came to us with a brief that needed an illustrator with a deft touch, capable of addressing a particularly sensitive issue that men don’t necessarily find easy to address. And they needed to do this in five storyboard frames. After having worked so well together on other jobs in the past, Murray McKenzie was the man for McCann.

With only 5 frames to communicate a thirty second TV commercial, Murray needed to be adept at illustrating realistic people with believable expressions, who do not get in the way of presenting the overall narrative of the commercial.

There is a certain economy of illustration required to summarise thirty seconds of potential TV footage into five frames, yet ensure that story, emotion and humour are not lost.
