Having illustrated many celebrities for cult movie posters and musicians in gig posters Ken has developed a keen knack for likeness. Recently what we’ve noticed is more than just recognisable characters but distinctive personalities are starting to shine through, ooze out or punch you in the nose. Ken has an admirable determination to push himself further with each commission. The fact that he is now striving for deeper depictions of his subjects is testament to that.

What we love is how Ken uses the composition of the poster design to accentuate the loneliness he is trying to articulate, rather than just relying on the expression of actor and cowriter Joe Spinnell.

The 1980′s cult classic has been rereleased by Grindhouse in association with the Alamo Drafthouse Theatre. The pencils, process and final poster below were created by Ken as part of the commission for Mondo who is screen printing the film poster to promote their upcoming screening of Maniac.
