Johan and the 3 bears

Feb 4 2010
Not all brands want to puff their chest out in the loudest, proudest most startling way. Some prefer a more charming approach to defining our aspirations.

Take Uncle Toby’s latest print campaign that employed Johan Potma’s off the wall style to depict the ever-porridge-lovin’ mama bear proudly parading her slimmer waist whilst the rest of her family tuck into their tasty oats.

It takes an imagination like Johan’s to paint a single moment with enough storyline that the picture provokes your imagination.

Scroll down the images below and take particular note of details like baby bear’s drawing of mama bear pinned to the wall. It’s details like these that make Johan’s work all the richer for his imagination and all the more appreciated by those clients whom choose to work with him. It was his idea to use this drawing to show how much larger mama bear used to be in the past before eating the oats.
