Burgers make me emotional

Mar 1 2010
DDB Sydney asked for someone to come up with an emotional economy to represent what was going on between a man, a woman and the object of their appetite. So a full set of emoticons were required and we knew there was only one man who had the expansive sense of humour to pull off the job.

John Shakespeare started making people laugh with only an insight into the way people feel and an ink pen, after that sparing use of colour, from there physical clay models and now 3D technology. The decision to change medium was his own. Driven by nothing more than curiosity, but behind everything he does is his sense of humour and it’s that sense of humour that makes you laugh no matter what media it’s delivered. Scroll through the many moods of a McDonald’s burger lover below and take note of how one man with only a sphere and a handful of accessories can represent so many emotions.
